Terry Ekasala: Layers of Time

Terry Ekasala’s improvisational paintings explore the threshold between abstraction and representation. Ekasala approaches painting with immediacy and spontaneity, reveling in the interplay of color and texture, gesture and form. Layers of Time features monumental oil paintings and more intimate works on paper, as well as several new large-scale paintings commissioned by BCA. Residing in East Burke, Vermont, Ekasala has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. Ekasala is the recipient of the 2023 Vermont Prize.
