La Famille Leblanc with the YTV Youth Commission

This event is part of Vermont Folklife’s Young Tradition Festival, taking place May 4-7 in Burlington.
Robin LeBlanc, accompanied by his wife Rebecca and daughters, carries on 6 generations of French-Acadian musical tradition. The three LeBlanc sisters dance the jig to the sound of their father’s violin which takes up dance tunes played by his great-grandfather. Charlotte plays the violin, Rosalie accompanies her on the piano and the concertina and Mélodie embellishes everything with her jig steps and flute. Their mother harmonizes her voice with theirs.
The YTV Youth Commission is a talented trad band of 5 teens playing contemporary melodies and traditional tunes from various cultural backgrounds.
