Art as Meditation

The inherent calling that we all have to be present is growing amidst the sometimes overwhelming political and environmental chaos that has become commonplace in our daily lives. If you are interested in experiencing art as a meditation and gathering in community to look at and talk about the creative process, this class is for you.

Everyone is welcome, including beginning artists and meditators as well as people who have regular practices. The class will include inspirational prompts such as mark making, looking at master works of art, and incorporating existing works of art into our own. As we begin to let go of rigid ideas and shift away from being goal oriented in our approach, we hope to suspend self-consciousness and expectations so that the creative process of making can arise naturally.
