Call Out to High School Teachers
Join "Women Leading the Way," a national research, art and storytelling project that challenges high school students to explore the fundamental human right to vote by connecting their family history to the Suffrage Movement — and by reflecting on their experience both personally and within the larger context of our democracy.
This Project is free to join, open to all high schools in the U.S. and its territories, and will run through the 2018-2019 school year.
The deadline for registration is March 8, 2018. (Early registration encouraged).
To learn more and register, please go to www.suffragettes2020.com.
Students will examine the history of the Suffrage Movement through the extraordinary pioneers who made significant and lasting contributions to human rights in United States and around the globe. Based on their research and family history, they will create three short essays and two portraits that will be featured on a poster they design.
"Women Leading the Way" will culminate in an online showcase of all poster entries — and 100 entries will be selected to appear in a National Poster Exhibition to be held in New York City in 2020.
Please join us in celebrating the Centennial of Women's Suffrage through this very unique and important project.
