Request for Proposal

MACC is currently proposing to engage the services of a professional artist to create a mural that is artsy, welcoming, and includes directional markings into downtown Morrisville.

Objective: To create a mural that is vibrant and will entice users of the rail trail to come up into the downtown. The mural should reflect that there is a strong, vibrant downtown just up a couple blocks up from the rail trail.

Location: The panel or panels will be installed on the rk MILES building directly across from 10 Railroad Street along Lamoille Valley Rail Trail.

Scope of the Project: The mural(s) must include the words “Head Up The Hill to Fabulous Downtown Morrisville” and be creative/artsy/welcoming. The mural should also include a notation about the Morrisville History and Art Walk and utilize some form of arrows or another creative manner directing people to go up Portland Street and visit our fabulous downtown district.

The artist must be a Vermont resident, preference will be given to Lamoille County residents and extra bonus points will be given to Morristown residents.

The artist will be responsible for creating a mural that will withstand the weather using exterior grade materials.

MACC will install the panel(s).
Total budget $2,000.00
January 16, 2018-proposals due
February 21, 2018-contract signed-including a 25% deposit
May 1, 2018-mural completed, balance of payment paid
