The Southern Vermont Arts Center (SVAC) is searching for an entrepreneurial and enthusiastic educator and nonprofit arts professional to develop a wide variety of programs and events for a diverse audience. The Manager of Education & Programs is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of SVAC’s educational programs for adults and children including: classes, workshops, performances, exhibition-related offerings and fundraising events, as well as developing new initiatives and strengthening SVAC’s position in the community.

Duties to include: coordinating all aspects of workshops/classes for adults and children; developing unique exhibition-related programs; developing lesson plans for informal educational opportunities such as SVAC’s parent-child class, Young at Art, gallery tours and related art-making activities; organizing student and school-related programmatic partnerships; developing new relationships with schools and other educational partners (libraries, theaters, etc.) to create new programming on SVAC’s campus or in the community; creating and maintaining the new family gallery, Artventure; organizing family-related activities, such as Halloween on the Hill; assisting in the planning and coordination of SVAC’s music series including artist contracts, coordinating artist amenities, online ticket box office sales, and required staff and volunteers; training/supervising of volunteers and part-time staff assisting in educational and public programs; coordinating fundraising events related to SVAC’s programs; and other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Education, or Museum Studies, Master’s Preferred. Required experience working with school administrators, formal and/or informal teaching experience using hands-on methods, and at least 2 years of program/budget management experience. Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, including public speaking. Proficiency with Google Suite, cloud-based ticketing software and CRM platforms. Position classification is full-time, salaried (exempt). Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday and some additional night and weekend work will be required. For full description visit:
