Catamount Accepting Submissions for Fourth Annual Juried Show

Catamount Arts is pleased to announce its fourth Annual Juried Show, juried by distinguished curator and museum administrator Nick Capasso, director of the Fitchburg Art Museum in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. The Arts Connect at Catamount Arts Juried Members Show will feature new and exciting work by emerging and established artists from across New England, and will be on view from December 1 through February 15, 2019. A gala reception for artists, gallerists, collectors, and art lovers will take place Saturday, December 1st, to which all applicants are invited.
Artists are invited to submit up to five works created within the last five years. Cash prizes ($500 for the first place winner, $250 for the second place winner, and $100 for the third place winner) and a Catamount Arts Membership (valued at $50 and good for discount admission to movies and select performances at Catamount and 50 other arts centers nationwide) will be awarded.
Artists from all career levels are encouraged, and work in all media is welcome. The deadline for submission is Monday, October 29, at 5pm. Juror’s Choice winners will be announced at the public reception at Catamount’s Fried Family Gallery on Saturday, December 1st.
Prior to his current appointment at Fitchburg Art Museum, juror Nick Capasso was Deputy Director for Curatorial Affairs at the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum in Lincoln, Massachusetts. In addition to curating numerous exhibitions, he has been a major contributor to such books as Painting In Boston: 1950-2000 and other publications. Capasso has lectured and written extensively on contemporary public art. From 2000-2007, he was Board Chair of Boston’s UrbanArts Institute and is currently serving as Chair of the Public Art Curatorial Committee at the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy.
