On Saturday, May 26 at 7 PM, join Eric Hangen y La Ruta at the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester for an unforgettable evening of Latin jazz to benefit solar energy projects in Puerto Rico.

Vermont resident and pianist / composer Eric Hangen studied piano at Berklee College of Music. He lived in Puerto Rico, where he performed with Latin Grammy winners Celia Cruz, Andy Montañez, José “Cheo” Feliciano, and many other stars of the Puerto Rican salsa scene. His new album, “Real You Real Me,” seamlessly blends the rhythms of the island with influences from jazz and classical music to create a unique sound that is both infectious and thought-provoking.

An all-star cast of musicians from around the globe will join the performance, including:

• Puerto Rican saxophonist Edmar Colon, a first-prize winner at the “Keep an Eye” International Jazz Awards in Amsterdam. Colon is a graduate of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute and has toured and performed with Grammy award winners such as Dianne Reeves, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Esperanza Spalding.

• Israeli flutist Amir Milstein, a world music professor at New England Conservatory and veteran several acclaimed groups in the world music scene, including Bustan Abraham and Tucan Trio. Milstein has performed with latin music greats such as six-time grammy winner Tito Puente.

• German drummer Bertram Lehmann, a percussion professor at Berklee College of Music. Lehmann has over 40 albums to his credit and has recorded and performed with Grammy award winners such as Dave Samuels, Paquito D’Rivera, and Randy Brecker.
