Vermont International Festival Presents Cape Breton Performers Anita MacDonald and Ben Miller

Vermont International Festival Presents Cape Breton Performers Anita MacDonald and Ben Miller

Cape Breton performers Anita MacDonald and Ben Miller are featured at the 27th annual Vermont International Festival, which will be held Friday, December 6 through Sunday December 8, at the Champlain Valley Exposition, Route 15/Pearl Street in Essex Junction.

Renowned across Canada for their synergistic approach to traditional Scottish music, Anita MacDonald and Ben Miller blend Scottish Lowland pipes and Cape Breton fiddle, Gaelic song and step dance. Ben and Anita blend together the old and new world traditions while constantly exploring new ways to bring their instruments closer together. Their work has been hailed as “Playful, poignant and passionate, all at once” and “Fresh, yet totally traditional”.

The Vermont International Festival features multi-cultural music and dance on two stages over the weekend. In addition, over sixty booths will sell reasonably-priced, unique, imported handcrafts, brought here by artisans from all parts of the globe, as well as by Vermont vendors importing international merchandise. Another festival highlight is the delicious and affordable ethnic food available in the Food Court.

The Vermont International Festival will begin on Friday, December 6th with School Day, when busloads of children from all over Vermont experience world cultures firsthand and feel the excitement of having a passport stamped by all of the countries represented at this unique celebration.

Dates and hours for the Vermont International Festival are: Friday, December 6, 5pm-8pm; Saturday, December 7th, 10am-6pm; Sunday, December 8th, 10am- 5pm.

Tickets are on sale at the door: $10 for adults; $5 for children 6-12 years old; $5 for seniors (65+); $25 family pass; children under 6 are FREE. Admission is good for the entire.
