Arts Calendar: Film
Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The ninth film from the writer-director features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.
Directed by Quentin Tarantino.

The Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival showcases the work of first and second time filmmakers. This is our sole focus. Our 5th Annual event will roll out August 22-25, 2019. We have four beautiful venues and anticipate screening over 100 films, a diverse array of features and shorts across all genres, as selected by Artistic Director Jay Craven. Last year we welcomed 60 filmmakers and many distinguished guests to our stages for panel discussions and film-minded conversation. To round out the Festival experience, we throw some hoppin' events including an Opening Night party, a Filmmakers-Only champagne reception, Festival Happy Hours and after parties for Passholders. Summer's Sweet Finale!

Rose Umerlik’s work is abstract with a focus on form and line. Working in graphite and oil on panel, she explores the complexity of what it is to be human by mirroring that complexity in the interaction and layering of forms and lines in her work.
Umerlik has received a grant from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts to participate in the Takt Kunstprojektraum Residency in Berlin, Germany; a fellowship to participate in the Sam and Adele Golden Foundation Residency. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing arts. Her work has been reviewed in Art New England and Artscope. She has also published two books, Intimacy of Forms and Histories. Umerlik lives in Jeffersonville, where she maintains a full-time studio practice.
