August 6-10, Performance on 8/10 at 7pm
8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Ages: 6th - 12 grade
$230 Scholarships Available

What is your perspective? What do you have to say? This camp will be an original, student-composed performance straight play, but the students will bring their ideas to the table, so there may be some music incorporated. It will not be a traditional musical. I will work with students as individuals, pairs, or small groups for scenes they compose. I have original poetry, centered on teen issues, that will help inspire us. The collection is called, Voices We Hear in the Hall: poems and stories about the distraction of growing up.

Pride & Prejudice

Pride & Prejudice Vermont Arts 2018
Description:

A witty reinvention of the classic Jane Austen novel. By Kate Hamill.

The outspoken Elizabeth Bennet faces mounting pressure from all sides to secure a suitable marriage. But is marriage suitable for a woman of Elizabeth’s intelligence and independence? When she meets the standoffish, tall, vaguely handsome, mildly amusing, and impossibly aristocratic Mr. Darcy, they clash initially, but is there something deeper behind their animosity? Literature’s greatest tale of manners, society and love has never felt so theatrical or spirited than it does in this effervescent adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic romance from acclaimed writer and actress Kate Hamill (Bedlam’s Sense and Sensibility).
