Virtual VSC: Vermont Studio Center is pleased to host Translation in Action: a reading and discussion with poet, Jean D’Amérique and poet-translator, Conor Bracken on Monday, August 21, 2023, 5:00 pm ET, Zoom. D’Amérique and Bracken will read from and discuss the translation of No Way in This Skin Without This Bloody Embrace (Ugly Duckling Presse).

Born in Haïti in 1994, Jean D’Amérique is a poet, playwright, and novelist. He directs the liter-ary festival Transe Poétique and the poetry journal Davertige. His work has been published by Cheyne, Théâtrales, and Actes Sud, and has received many literary prizes.
Conor Bracken is the author of Henry Kissinger, Mon Amour (Bull City Press) and The Enemy of My Enemy is Me (Diode Editions), and the translator of Mohammed Khaïr-Eddine’s Scorpionic Sun (CSU Poetry Center) and Jean D’Amérique’s No Way in the Skin Without This Bloody Embrace (Ugly Duckling Presse). He teaches at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
