The Mad Contemporary: Cartoon & Comics Exhibition

Mad River Valley Arts in Waitsfield, VT is excited to present ‘The Mad Contemporary’ a cartoon and comics exhibition running August 2- September 14.

The opening reception is on August 3, from 5-7pm, with an artist talk at 5:30pm.

MRVArts has invited over a dozen creators of varying ages to share this hybrid art form of pictorial narrative from their own point of view and visual language. Feelings, ideas and personal myth unfold in dramatic sequencing or single captions of imagery with text. Each of their pictorial approaches of character, action, symbol and commentary create story for the purposes of human connection, reflection and social understanding. Come join us and see how this powerful medium of communication draws upon contemporary life today.

The gallery is free to all and open Tuesday- Saturday from 1-5 pm.
