Poetic Connection ~ Live performance event
February 2 at 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm$25
An intimate and transformative live performance event with poets, teachers, scholars, dancers and musicians Julie MacAdam, Aneken River, Avery Lavoie and Liesje Smith
Through experimenting with our co-emergent processes, this Being/Body performance/somatic experience aims to cultivate awe and tenderness within you.
Experience the poetic synergy as one poem sparks another, instigating a transformative shift and fostering communal meaning-making.
About the Performers:
Julie MacAdam is a somatic therapist and educator, teacher of yoga, and dream tender that works 1-on-1 and with groups to support personal and collective evolution. There are many things she holds dear to her heart, here are a few: stones of all shapes and sizes, sunrises and sunsets, thanking the stars, dancing, free movement, breath, sighing, improvisational living and creating, dreaming, laughter and tears, serendipity, permission to not know, and practicing being human. You can find more about her here: www.myamountain.com
Avery Lavoie (she/they) is a free spirit, poet, artist, daughter, friend, social scientist and sister. Avery feels most free when dancing, singing, creating and learning about the world. She is grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with fellow beings on this Earth!
Liesje Smith wants to share their piece, “The Production of Worthiness” until it feels complete, letting it evolve and transform with time. It’s a way of tracking how the words that came from within keep guiding a direction forward. It’s about sending a message to the audience to find their inner freedom to express, that that is justifiable and essential for healing. It’s an ongoing radial discovery of fundamental principles that arose from the work of the soul. This piece has been performed three time, always a solo. This time, it will be a duet with Aneken River.
