Nature Drawing for Kids

Come explore your love of drawing and nature at Camp Meade! We will explore mark-making on paper, matching this “drawing alphabet” to the textures and shapes of nature through close observation, then using this alphabet to tell a visual story about the things in nature that fascinate us. Weather permitting, we will use the short nature trail for our drawing explorations, or work inside with a natural history collection. All you need is a pencil and your curiosity!

Taught by teaching artist and science writer, Rachel Mirus. Participants are encouraged to bring their preferred drawing materials; some extras will be available.
