Making Accordion Books

March 10 at 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

$100

Accordion Books are just what they sound like – books formed by pleating paper so that the pages fold in and out like an accordion.

We’ll start by learning how to create the basic accordion book structure, and then explore several different modifications such as sew-ins, cut-outs, pockets, and covers.

The first part of the workshop will be step-by-step instruction to learn the different accordion bookbinding methods. In the second part of the workshop, each participant will start to create their own accordion artist’s book with support from the instructor.

Participants should come with an idea or theme to explore in their books. You are encouraged to bring collage materials, bits of text, drawings, prints, etc to incorporate into your artists’ books.
