Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury presents Dwight & Nicole

July 7 at 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

Catamount Arts is eager to welcome soul/blues band Dwight & Nicole to Dog Mountain, Sunday, July 14th, at 5pm, as part of the Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury Music Series. The Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury Music Series, funded in part by the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation, brings 10+ free weekly family-friendly concerts to St. Johnsbury every summer since 2017.

2017 is also when Dwight Ritcher and Nicole Nelson began touring the Eastern U.S. as Dwight & Nicole, earning nominations for nine Boston Music Awards, ten Daysie Awards, ten New England Music Awards, and winning awards including “Band of the Year,” “Vocalist of the Year,” “Blues Act of the Year,” and “Video of the Year. They’ve performed with icons like Mavis Staples, who called them her new favorite band, and Melissa Etheridge, who called them “absolutely the real deal.”

In Burlington, VT, they met powerhouse drummer Ezra Oklan (Nicole Atkins, Elle King) and quickly formed a trio with Nicole picking up the bass. They’ve since released two records, “Electric Lights,” and “Further,” the latter of which was dubbed, “one of the best EPs to ever come out of the Green Mountain State,” by the Burlington Free Press. Combining retro-soul grooves with powerhouse vocals, Dwight & Nicole are a musical force to be reckoned with, praised heartily by music critics as well as pop legends like Christina Aguilera.

Showtime is 5pm, on July 14th, at Dog Mountain, where Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury will present free family-friendly concerts every Sunday through the end of August. Food and drink will be available for purchase on site, or patrons may be bring their own food. Patrons may not bring their own alcohol. Dogs are welcome! Thanks to Kingdom Trails, switchback footpaths provide easier passage from the parking area to the concert green. Parking is also available at Fairbanks Scales on Portland Street, where patrons can then board a free shuttle, courtesy of RCT, up to Dog Mountain. Visit www.catamounarts.org for more information.

In addition to weekly Sunday concerts at Dog Mountain, Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury will present monthly Friday night concerts on Railroad Street as part of St. Johnsbury’s Final Fridays street fairs. Final Friday celebrations take place on the last Friday of June, July, and August, featuring food, arts, culture, and fun for the whole family, beginning at 4pm. Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury concerts during Final Fridays will take place at 7pm, on Railroad Street, July 26th and August 30th. Learn more about Final Fridays at www.discoverstjohnsbury.org.

The Levitt AMP St. Johnsbury Music Series is supported in part by the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation, which partners with changemakers and nonprofits across the country to activate underused outdoor spaces through the power of free live music—bringing people together, fostering belonging, and invigorating community life. Presenting high-caliber talent and a broad array of music genres and cultural programming, Levitt concerts are welcoming and inclusive destinations where people of all ages and backgrounds come together.

In 2024, the national Levitt network of music venues and concert sites is presenting 650+ free concerts in 45 towns and cities, with audiences over 750,000. In addition to supporting free concerts, the Levitt Foundation is dedicated to advancing equitable music ecosystems through research and partnerships. Learn more at www.levitt.org.
