Introduction to Kumiko: Asa-No-Ha Pattern

June 15 at 12:00 pm - June 16 at 3:00 pm

$220 – $250

Learn. Originating in Japan more than a millennium ago, Kumiko is an intricate form of lattice work that draws inspiration from the natural world and uses geometry and angles to reveal forms of nature. Examples of these patterns resemble cherry blossoms or hemp leaves.

This course is entirely hand tool-based. Students should be comfortable with hand tools such as chisels. Having patience and applying attention to detail are key.

Make. Students will leave with an Asa-No-Ha Pattern Kumiko Square.

June 15 & 16, Saturday and Sunday | 12pm-3pm

Cost: $220 members; $250 non-members (includes all materials)
Partial and full scholarships are available. Contact [email protected] for details.
