Erica Brown & the Bluegrass Connection

April 27 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Catamount Bluegrass Night transitions to a new location on Saturday, April 27th, welcoming special guests Erica Brown and the Bluegrass Connection. The popular monthly series, formerly at Catamount ArtPort, will be held at United Community Church, on Main Street, in St. Johnsbury. Hosted by acclaimed father/daughter duo Bob and Sarah Amos, Catamount Bluegrass Night welcome New England’s best bluegrass and acoustic acts for family-friendly fun.

Featured guest Erica Brown and The Bluegrass Connection is a five-piece band featuring some of the finest musicians in New England. The band features award-winning fiddler and singer Erica Brown, Matt Shipman on mandolin, Lincoln Meyers on guitar, Eli Gilbert on banjo, and Kris Day on bass.

A fun and energetic band, they incorporate a unique and diverse blend of original and traditional music from their bluegrass, folk, and country influences. Together, these renowned musicians form a bluegrass powerhouse of vocal and instrumental expertise delighting audiences all over the Northeast and Canada.

Their latest album “Blue Pine Moon” has been well received by fans, critics and musicians alike. The album contains thoughtful, original songs from both Shipman and Brown and other carefully chosen songs from the bluegrass tradition. Grammy-award winning bluegrass songwriter Rick Lang says it is a “…must have for any lover of good Bluegrass music!”

Recent performance highlights include performing at the Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival and a collaboration with The Bangor Symphony Orchestra in which they performed original songs with the orchestra at the Kingfield Pops.

Catamount Bluegrass Night hosts Bob & Sarah Amos, who recently had a #1 song, “The Hills That I Call Home”, on the Folk Alliance International radio airplay chart, are thrilled to welcome Erica Brown and the Bluegrass Connection to the United Community Church, on Main Street, in St. Johnsbury, Saturday, April 27th, at 7pm. Admission is by donation.
