The Brattleboro Music Center Chamber Series presents Sō Percussion in a benefit concert for Groundworks Collaborative.

Groundworks Collaborative was established in 2015 following the merger of the Brattleboro Area Drop-In Center and Morningside Shelter. It partners with people and systems creating solutions to end hunger and homelessness for all people in the region, working toward a community in which all people have their basic needs met, including a safe and dignified place to call home.
“We are so grateful to the BMC for this benefit concert for Groundworks,” says Libby Bennett, Groundworks’ Director of Development and Communications. “It is such a gift to be able to enjoy the work of these phenomenal musicians while raising funds to support the people we serve at Groundworks.”
Sō Percussion is celebrated by audiences and presenters for a dazzling range of work: for live performances in which “telepathic powers of communication” (The New York Times) bring to life vibrant percussion repertoire. Known for an extravagant array of collaborations in classical music, pop, indie rock, contemporary dance, and theater, Sō Percussion is also recognized for its work in education and community, creating opportunities and platforms for music and artists that explore the immense possibility of art in our time.
Members include Eric Cha-Beach, Josh Quillen, Adam Sliwinski and Jason Treuting, who will offer a program featuring Eric Cha-Beach’s 4+9, Angélica Negrón’s Inward Pieces, Olivier Tarpaga’s FēFē, and Bryce Dessner’s Music for Wood and Strings.
