“Barn Sale!” – Larry Golden: Vermont Plein Air Paintings

May 4 at 9:00 am - June 30 at 5:00 pm

Free
field with barn

An art exhibit of Plein Air paintings and landscapes of local barns in the Northeast Kingdom painted by Larry Golden.

Enduring icons and landmarks of Vermont’s agricultural landscape are big red barns. These symbols of Vermont’s history are at risk of falling into ruin – and with that, there is potential for losing a significant aspect of Vermont visual identity. In an effort to raise awareness around how to preserve the unique identity of Vermont as we move into the future, the Golden Gallery has curated a collection of Larry Golden paintings that take a viewer through a tour of the country roads of North East Kingdom Vermont, exploring with incredible detail and accuracy, others with more freedom and artistic liberty, the many different types of barns that proliferate Vermont countrysides.

Friends and residents of Vermont’s diverse creative and art communities are invited to celebrate springtime and talk about Vermont barns with Mr. Golden at his NEK gallery and art show, running daily, May through June at the Golden Gallery in St. Johnsbury, NEK, Vermont.
