3D: ILLUSIONS OF DEPTH AND WHY THEY WORK – ADULTS’ EDITION
April 13 at 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm$30
Have you ever wondered how artists can make a painted landscape seem to disappear into the distance? Or drawn fruit look as if you could pick it up? Artists use a familiar set of techniques to communicate depth and dimension in their work, which are all based on how our brains interpret visual scenes. In this workshop, we will explore these techniques while also learning why they work and how they’re grounded in human perception.
Taught by teaching artist and science writer, Rachel Mirus. Materials will be provided and light refreshments will be served. Participants are welcome to bring a beverage of choice to enjoy during the workshop. Open to adults.
