Position Open, Cold Hollow Sculpture Park

Cold Hollow Sculpture Park,  a nonprofit in northern Vermont, is seeking a long-term sculpture and buildings maintenance manager.

Qualifications: Most importantly is a desire to live in northern Vermont and a commitment to, and aptitude for, learning many new skills. Experience in equipment maintenance, crane operation, rigging and refinishing large outdoor painted steel sculptures would be a plus but not mandatory.

Scope of job: The hire will initially be working as a studio assistant to sculptor, David Stromeyer two days per week, May through October, annually. Two other days per week during that period will be devoted to training of the necessary skills to, in-time, take over the refinishing and general maintenance of the Park’s extensive art collection. Additionally, the hire will be expected to tend to on-going general building and equipment maintenance as well as other duties to serve the Park’s function.

Compensation: Initial salary will be $25-30/hour ($750-900/week) depending on experience level for the six-month period annually. Additionally, a year-round monthly living stipend of $1000 is offered. There is also a possibility for the hire to pursue their own art, if desired, using some of the studio space and equipment.
