Applications are now open for the September 29 – October 1, 2023 workshop in wine country on the central coast of California. Deadline to apply is May 13.
This special program at Willow Pond SLO in beautiful Arroyo Grande, California will focus on professional practices in areas of gallery representation and museum exhibitions, self-promotion, use of social media in promotion, the importance of relevant critical writing, presentation, and identifying and strategizing personal/professional goals.
The workshop will take place September 29 – October 1, 2023, with local fare provided for daily meals, and optional morning and evening activities. Through private one-on-one sessions and group meetings, students will have the rare opportunity to meet with a team of guest professionals.
16 participants will be selected by our Jury of professionals for a two-day workshop focused on best professional practices in the creative industry. Accepted artists will be notified by Monday, May 15, 2023, and must pay their tuition of $900 in advance in order to hold their place. Artists are responsible for their own travel and housing expenses. The special hotel rate for our attendees has been blocked out at the Agrarian Hotel in Arroyo Grande, CA. The workshop will run Saturday – Sunday, September 30 – October 1, 2023, from 9 am – 4 pm, with optional morning and evening activities at the Willow Pond SLO and Chene Vineyard. Check-in for artists will be Friday, September 29, 2023, after 3 pm. The deadline to apply is May 13, 2023, at 5 pm. If invited to participate each artist must pay their deposit of $500 by June 1, 2023, to hold their spot in the workshop, with tuition paid in full by August 1, 2023.
Applicants must have a working practice in the visual arts (curators welcome), speak English, and fill out the application completely, including answering all questions and including images and an artist statement.
