Vermont Arts Council

The Anniversary Garden Party

You’re invited to a party on Monday, June 8th. Refreshments will be served alongside a good helping of music, stone sculpture, and a side of textile art. Don’t miss eating a slice of anniversary cake in honor of many organizations observing important anniversaries this year. The Vermont Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts are both turning 50,  but after a half century of public funding, the real story is the abundance of art in our state. Help us honor Catamount Arts with 40 years in operation, the Vermont Crafts Council with 25 , and the Peacham Acoustic Music Festival with 5 —just to name a few.

The party is in the sculpture garden at 136 State Street in Montpelier from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Party 2Also on June 8th

This party is on the same day as the Arts Council’s annual meeting held at the Vermont State House from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. New board members will be elected. All Arts Council members have been sent a ballot in the mail; voting can also be completed in person prior to the 3:30 convening.

The Arts Council’s board of trustees will also be meeting from 10:30-2:30 at the State House. The board meets four times a year to ensure the health of the organization by providing expertise and insight into policy development, financial vitality, and programmatic integrity. All board meetings are open to the public.

If you’d like to attend the annual meeting, the board meeting, or both, let us know. Only Vermont Arts Council members can vote on trustees.
