Vermont Poetry Out Loud 2018 Semifinals

The Vermont Poetry Out Loud 2018 semifinals have been rescheduled for March 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m at the Barre Opera House. Champions from 33 high schools across the state will come to compete. Ten finalists will be named at the end of the day, and continue to the State Finals held March 15 in partnership with Vermont PBS at the Elley-Long Music Center in Colchester. The state champion will move on to the National Championship held April 23-25 at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Ten Finalists Congratulations to Aliyah Burr - Burlington High School | Alyese Caruso-Randall - Bellows Free Academy Fairfax | Taite Clark - The Sharon Academy | Jaime DeKett - Saint Johnsbury Academy | Abigail Detrick - Northfield High School | Emily Friedrichsen - Champlain Valley Union High School | Kira Hansen - Mount Anthony Union High School | Emily Klar - Lake Region Union High School | Casey Ober - Mount Abraham Union High School, and Gracie Smith -  Arlington Memorial High School! These students had the highest scores in the semifinals held March 8 and will advance to the championship round March 16, 2017. Read More

The Vermont Poetry Out Loud 2017 Semifinals will be at the Barre Opera House on March 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Champions from 34 high schools across the state will come to compete. Ten finalists will be named at the end of the day, and continue to the State Finals on March 16 at Vermont PBS. The state champion will move on to the National Championship held in April at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. The semifinals can be seen via livestream, thanks to personnel and bandwidth from Big Heavy World. Read More
