Morning Sun Softens the Spotlight Gallery

It’s likely Tony Conner is a morning person. Morning mist, morning color, and  the morning sky are all captured in watercolors exhibited in An Artist’s Journey Through the Seasons, now hanging in the Vermont Arts Council’s Spotlight Gallery.

Tony is a self-taught artist dedicated to a single medium. The paintings are built primarily on the expression and interpretation of landscape and seascape; but Tony says the work is completely focused on the quality of light itself. Tony writes about the things that attract him to a scene and why he loves to work with watercolor in his artist statement.

CornerHouseA native of Winchester, Virginia, Tony currently works from his studio in Bennington, Vermont.

You can talk to him in person during the October 17 Art Walk from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and see his paintings any weekday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tony’s website is www.tonyconner.com
