Susan shapes the future vision and direction for the Council, working with the board and staff. She leads the administrative team and works to foster external partnerships with artists, cultural organizations, and communities across Vermont. She is the contact for state advocacy efforts.
Susan holds an Ed.M. in Arts in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. in Theater from McGill University. Prior to joining the Council, she was the executive director of Lake Champlain Maritime Museum and, before that, the director of programs and audience development at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. She has over 15 years of experience working in arts education and public history at theaters and museums, in small towns and big cities.
Susan also spends her time skiing, hiking, gardening, and being outside in Vermont.
