Major Jackson's Biography

Major Jackson

Major Jackson is the author of four collections of poetry and editor of two. His poems and essays have appeared in American Poetry Review, Boston Review, The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Paris Review, and Poetry, among other literary publications.

Major is a recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Pushcart Prize, a Whiting Writers' Award and a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship. He served as a creative arts fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University and is a University Distinguished Professor and the Richard A. Dennis Professor of English at The University of Vermont. He serves as the Poetry Editor of the Harvard Review.
