Technical Assistance Grants enhance organizational development by funding training opportunities for organization staff and/or trustees and for improvements to technology.
Eligible activities are those that help an arts organization strengthen its capacity to serve its constituents. Funds may be used to assist with
- professional development opportunities (workshops, conferences, etc.),
- training programs that are not a part of a matriculated degree program for which college credit is given,
- hiring consultants to assist activities such as
- staff training
- board development
- strategic planning
- technology improvement and skills training
- accessibility training.
Technical Assistance grants are available to 501(c)3 arts organizations only, and may be awarded in addition to other Council grants.
Who May Not Apply
Academic tuition, international travel, and the purchase of permanent equipment are some of the things the Council does not fund. Other exclusions are listed in the General Guidelines.
Grant amounts range from $250 to $1500 and require a 1:1 match of non-federal funds.
Grant amounts are dependent upon federal and state funding and subject to change.
All applications must be submitted online. There will be three application deadlines this year. They are:
1. July 22, 2013
2. January 6, 2014
3. May 5, 2014
All activities must take place within the Council's grant year (September 1, 2013-August 31, 2014). Projects cannot be funded retroactively. Applicants will be notified of the status of their application within 30 days of the deadline.
Applications are reviewed and scored by staff according to the following criteria:
Applications which are not complete or do not adhere to the General Guidelines will not be considered.
