The Art House is seeking applicants for a part-time Teaching Artist for our after school program “Caution Wet Paint”. CWP seeks to integrate the arts into STEM (STEAM) lessons across the Northeast Kingdom. Currently, the program is available in Craftsbury, Wolcott, and Albany Elementary schools. Class size is around 12 and includes grades K-6th. Previous courses include Environmental Art, Art through the Ages, Improv Comedy, the Art of Puppetry, and more. This fall we will be leading: Art 2.0, Design & Build, & Fiber Arts.
The Art House is looking for a motivated professional with a background in arts and education, as well as, experience with lesson plans, youth, or relevant fields. The Lead Teaching Artist for CWP will be responsible for developing high quality arts education curricula alongside the Executive Director, implementing lesson plans, engaging with students, and reporting on classroom environment. The position will require 4 to 5 after school classes to be taught between the three school districts, Monday - Friday. Hours of lessons range from 2:30 to 5:00 pm depending on the district. Starting rate is $15 an hour before tax. Applicants can expect between 10 to 15 hours a week. A background check is required.
