Jim Lowe, the Times Argus.

Since founding in 2010, Scrag Mountain Music has been connecting Vermont communities to classical music in powerful ways. Each season, Scrag Mountain Music presents 4-5 weekends of innovative, interactive, and affordable chamber music performances in barns, art galleries, town halls, and churches around Vermont. “Come as you are. Pay what you can.” Instead of tickets, audience members are invited to pay what they can during intermission, using a radical payment method that allows concerts to be accessible to all. Scrag Mountain Music extends its reach to Vermont communities by bringing interactive performances and teaching artist residencies to VT schools and community organizations. Scrag Mountain Music engages top-tier chamber musicians from around the country and creates a retreat atmosphere for them to rejuvenate their artistry.
