Posted: January 2, 2018
End Date: February 4, 2018
Ballet Vermont will host auditions on February 4th for the 2018 season. Ballet Vermont brings dancers, musicians, and composers to Vermont to collaborate on original works of ballet.
The professional dance company will present Farm to Ballet for its fourth summer season with eight performances at farms throughout the state. The production was created to celebrate the unique culture of New England farms while promoting a vibrant, local, and sustainable food system while at the same time exposing audiences to the beauty of classical ballet. Rehearsals will begin soon and extend into the summer. The second production, Bees & Friends, is a vividly delightful menagerie depicting bees, bugs, and birds iconic to their seasons, and highlights the topics of pollination, metamorphoses, pest management, and bioluminescence. Dancers can audition for one or both productions. This will be performed in the fall.
“We are looking for a diverse cast of dancers from adults that are just beginning to explore ballet classes to more experienced dancers, or former dancers with previous training,” said Ballet Vermont founder and artistic director Chatch Pregger.
The audition begins at 11 a.m. at Spotlight Vermont, 50 San Remo Drive in South Burlington.
