Technical Assistance

Technical Assistance Grants support Vermont registered 501(c)(3) arts organizations by enabling them to take advantage of unique opportunities to enhance their organizational development, professional skills; or expand marketing capacity. Any Vermont registered 501(c)(3) arts organization may apply; schools and institutions of higher learning are not eligible. Technical Assistance funding may be awarded in addition to other Council grants.

Eligible activities are those that help a Vermont arts organization strengthen its capacity to serve its constituents. The following list, while not inclusive, illustrates a range of activities for which arts organizations may request support:

  • professional development opportunities for staff and/or board (workshops, conferences, etc.)

  • training programs for staff that are not a part of a matriculated degree program for which college credit is given

  • hiring consultants to assist activities such as staff training, board development, strategic planning, development of fundraising and marketing strategies, technology improvements and skills training, accessibility training

Grant amounts range from $250 to $1500 and require a 1:1 match of non-federal funds.

Grant amounts are dependent upon federal and state funding and subject to change.
