Gelli® Plate Monoprinting Class

Gelli® Plate Monoprinting Class
Description:

Green Mountain Academy welcomes Jane MacKugler to lead a one-day workshop on Gelli® Plate Monoprinting. The class will take place on Saturday, February 10 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Equinox Village. The Gelli® Plate looks and feels like gelatin, but is durable, reusable and stores at room temperature. It's easy to clean and always ready for printing, which makes monoprinting on a Gelli® plate simple and fun. The gratification is immediate, and the prints are too cool! We will use different sizes of Gelli® plates with acrylic paints and a variety of stencils, stamps, vegetation, household items, and whatever else we can find to create fun designs on paper and boxes. Bring along an old shirt or apron, any old gift boxes, anything that might make an interesting pattern, and your imagination. Preregistration is required and costs $50. For more information or to register, please call 802-867-0111 or visit our website at greenmtnacademy.org.

Time: 2/10/18 1:00pm - 4:00pm

Letter Carving for Beginner and Intermediate students

Letter Carving for Beginner and Intermediate students
Description:

This "hands on” weekend workshop will introduce you to the ancient Roman techniques of V-cut letter forms using hand chisels and mallets. Students will be guided through the drawing, composition, and spacing of your letter forms and learn to translate your drawing into an inscription on a tablet of Vermont slate. No previous experience with drawing or carving is necessary. Class demonstrations and one-on-one guidance will be emphasized. Handouts of lettering design principles and reference material will be given to each student. Completing a simple inscription will be the goal in this introductory workshop. You will never look at letter carving in the same way after this weekend! For Intermediate carvers, you are welcome to bring a project to work on. Stone and tools provided in the workshop fee. Please bring a bag lunch, and your enthusiasm!
Fee: $395. Instructor: Kerry O. Furlani

Time: 2/10/18 9:00am - 2/11/18 5:00pm
