Edie Sawitsky

Edie Sawitsky has resided in North Bennington since 2006. A former Arts Teacher and Wall Street executive she gives back to her community through volunteer work as Chair of the Bennington Museum’s Board of Trustees and Board Member and Past President of the Better Bennington Corporation. She has a stepdaughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren in Oslo, Norway.

Edie received a BFA from Syracuse University and a MA from New York University.  After working as a potter and a teacher, she took an MBA at CUNY-Baruch, and worked for top firms in the financial services industry. Now, Edie brings an artistic sensitivity and good business insights to whatever she does.

As a Vermont Arts Council Trustee, Edie brings awareness and commitment to the idea that the Arts are fundamentally important to the well-being and economic vitality of Vermont’s communities. “The Arts should be a driver of a community’s well-rounded approach to economic development, and it’s important for me to advocate for that in all that I do.”
