| In 1988 the State Legislature passed the Vermont Art in State Buildings Act which allocates $50,000 annually to enhance capital building projects through the acquisition or commission of site-specific artwork by Vermont artists. Since its inception, the project has funded more than two dozen projects in facilities across the state.
Administered by the Vermont Arts Council in partnership with the Department of Buildings and General Services, the program enhances our cultural environment and provides artistic enrichment for Vermont citizens and visitors. SEE THE ARTWORK: Below is an interactive map which outlines all of the locations where art has been installed and commissioned via the Council's Art in State Buildings program. You can see photos of the pieces - and in some cases video interviews with the artists. For help using this map, click on the ABOUT THIS MAP tab. |
