2010 Candidate Survey

This fall Vermonters will go to the polls to elect a new Governor, Lieutenant Governor, 150 State Representatives and 30 State Senators.  Given the challenges facing our state and the need for visionary leaders, this election gives arts advocates an opportunity to educate candidates about the vital role the arts play in Vermont's economic recovery.

Earlier this week the Vermont Arts Council sent a survey to candidates running for Governor, Lt. Governor, House and Senate.  We will be posting their responses on our website in the weeks ahead.

Advocate!

All across Vermont, arts and culture are at the center of building stronger communities, improving the quality of education and fostering economic growth.

The Vermont Arts Council works to bring attention to these efforts and to demonstrate the value of public support for arts and culture. 

As the state’s advocacy organization, the Council works with our Legislative Arts Caucus and other state partners to identify issues of importance to the cultural community and work to influence legislation and public opinion. 

Whether you are an individual artist, an arts administrator, an arts educator or an interested citizen, we encourage you to be an advocate for the arts!
